Despite frequent appearances in the Macroverse, Ludlow, Maine is actually not a fictional town. Like the fictionalized version, the town is in Aroostook County, just west of Houlton. Ludlow has a population of a little over 400, but the Macroverse version of the town has a population of around 1,000. The real town was founded in 1864, where the fictional was founded in 1774. Ludlow, Maine also isn't called 'The Cradle of Maine,' but that certainly plays into making the fictional version a little more intriguing, don't you think?
