Inside Looking Out The interior of The Chapel of the Transfiguration was sited and built to frame the Cathedral Peaks in the window just behind the altar. Stepping inside this chapel and seeing this altar with the beautiful scene behind it instantly soothed my soul. The Chapel of the Transfiguration was built in 1925 and is located just inside the southern part of The Grand Tetons National Park. At the time it was built, the National Park had not yet been established. It is still, though seasonally, an active Episcopal Church with services on Sundays and many wedding vows are exchanged here as well.
