St Mary's Lighthouse and island lie north of the River Tyne and Whitley Bay on the North Sea coast of England. The lighthouse is no longer in operation and is now a museum and tourist attraction which is only accessible at low tide when the causeway is not under water. The image was taken on a cold December morning shortly after sunrise with the calm conditions enabling the lighthouse to be reflected in the water next to the causeway under a blue sky and shows a mother carrying her child to a rock pool to look for sea creatures.
