If you've ever been to Island Beach State Park you know one of the best things about it is getting to see the locals. I'm talking about the real locals of course - the foxes! Whether they're hanging around, hamming it up for a photo shoot or chilling in the dunes looking for some fries to steal off a beach blanket, they're always a joy to see.

Do you remember the 80s? Do you remember three-wheelers? Remember pushing that thumb throttle for the first time and downshifting to pop a poor man's wheelie? Remember 2-stroke exhaust? Remember going over a jump, being in mid-air, and realizing that you're not going to land with all 3 tires on the ground? Remember the challenge of conquering a giant dune in 2nd gear, full throttle, shaking the whole way up until the gas cap came loose and spilled non-ethanol gasoline on your crotch?. Remember good times? Yeah, me too.

This is my watercolor and ink painting of some silhouettes of sea oats on the sand dunes at sunrise. I was inspired to paint this from my visits to the beach at sunrise and sunset. This painting is part of my Florida Watercolor Collection.
