Austria, Styria, Old castle door. Felt in the mood for colors. Played in Photoshop and added lots of saturation. Slightly cropped.

Canon Rebel EOS T1i Canon EF-S 18-200 inspired by the wonderful day Ksar or Ksour is the North African Meghrebi Arabic term for "castle", possibly loaned from Latin castrum. In the Maghreb, the term has a more general meaning of "fortified village,"or "fort". Ksour in the Maghreb typically consist of attached houses, often having collective granaries and other structures like a mosque, bath, oven, and shops.

Lincoln City Castle Square Text Taken from another photo of mine which is also here on Redbubble in my Lincolnshire Collection, I present to you the word Lincoln. This lovely city is the capital of Lincolnshire, UK, England 30 photographs stitched together to make a 360 degree panorama of Lincoln City Castle Square. This image takes in the stunning Cathedral, all the historic buildings and of course the castle. This was a trcky photograph to take with all of the people about. You have to make sure you do not replicate the people numerous times as they keep moving into you view as you take the photograph. By Paul Thompson Photography

A sunny autumnal view along the River Wye towards The Old Wye Bridge, taking in the sheer defences of Chepstow Castle.

The small town of Velez Blanco in the Almeria province of Anadalucia, Spain. Above the town is the fine Renaissance castle built by the Marquises of Velez Blanco in the early 16th century as an extension to the Moorish alcazaba. The castle is now just a shell as the Dukes of Medina sold the interior to an antiques dealer in 1904. The courtyard is now in the New York Metropolitan Museum of Art.

Looks like someone is really into Halloween

A uniformed guard stands at attention in a historical stone corridor, possibly within a castle or an old military facility. The guard, wearing a tall furry hat known as a bearskin, is in a side profile view holding a rifle with a fixed bayonet. This image, originally captured on film in 1987, depicts a royal guard. A lot of Windsor Castle is open to the public, but this image is a peek into the royally private part of the castle. The lonely soldier—resplendent in his red tunic and bearskin hat—standing guard in front of his sentry box, the flagstones beneath his feet glistening with the wetness of the recent rain, and the magnificent stonework. I think it's a cool image; I hope you do too.

Hard to believe that this was once one of the most powerful castles in England - it was begun by Robert D'Oilly in 1067 on the orders of Wiliam I to control the Thames Valley. Over the years is was expanded and became a royal residence as well as fortress. During the Civil War of the 1100s, Matilda took refuge there. from King Stephen's armies. After the Civil War of the 1600s, it was 'slighted' or partially destroyed.
