I was doing an Adobe Illustrator exercise and I was playing around with the training and I came up with what I think is an incredible series of illustrations that hopefully will peak your interest.

I used acrylic colors. The bird here is a metaphor for human. There are a lot of things that can change a person's personality from positive to negative from good to bad no one is perfect! But we have to hold on to our pure selves.

I mix drawing in oil pastel with pixels and collage images to form a contemplative scene. The minute sprout of life stretches up from the ground of a planet toward the stars of deep space. Faintly in the nebula above is seen the traces of verdant foliage. Is the sprout a descendant of that life far above, or is the vision in the nebula a prophecy of life to come? This composition is also the backdrop for my poem "At This Time," available on another image.

This is a view of the waters above the Morrison Dam, near Exeter, Ontario, in the autumn of 2020. It was an incredibly clear, calm day. The leaves on the trees were resplendent in the colours of the season. The calm waters on the lake made for this perfectly reflected vision of autumn beauty.

This is the kamon of the famous Takeda clan from the Sengoku period. The most famous Takeda member is Takeda Shingen who fought in the Battles of Kawanakajima against Uesugi Kenshin. The mon is an emblem to designate a family, clan or even an organization. The kamon is used specifically to identify a family. The mon is similar to the coat of arms from European heraldic tradition. Although, there is a big difference, the mon stays clean and minimalistic in design. European crests tend to get very complicated by combining other family crests over the generations. This is an image of just a few of the many, ninety-one, stupas (chedis) within the Wat Pho temple complex. These stupas are incredibly ornate with porcelain pieces embedded around their surfaces in very intricate patterns, each of which is topped by a small spire. I understand that at their simplest, stupas are a simple earthen mound that is faced with stones, but these take the art form to a new level. They are stunning.

While visiting Southeast Asia, I was really taken with the incredibly ornate roofs on the more distinct and culturally important buildings. While the roofs were wonderfully patterned with contrasting shades of orange, red, green, and other colours, the gable ends almost always had these sculpted end pieces, all coated in gold. I was told that the characters depicted snakes, but to me they looked like single-horned antelopes, but who am I to know. In capturing this image, I really liked the backdrop of the wonderful cloud formation beyond; the roof looked so proud against that backdrop and yet had a sense of peace.
