A highlight of the June long weekend at the Redbubble Rumble at Hill End 2014 was a sunrise shoot at Kissing Point. This photo was inspired by the legendary "Philip Johnson":http://www.redbubble.com/people/salieri1627 who has a similar photo in his gallery. Photographed with Canon 400D, ISO 100, F22, 2 seconds, RAW Mode. To get to this place you have to bend way down as you pass through the low rock ceiling behind the falls. Both times I needed to plant a hand in the mud to stop myself falling & picked up some mud that was almost as orange as my shirt & more orange than my hair ! I love the contrast of dark rock & artistically splashing white water. Towards the end of the National Pass walking track is this vista of Wentworth Falls. With some water it makes a great sight. In the middle of the Canyon Walk at Blackheath is this beautiful area of pools where you rock hop & enjoy the serenity of the steep cliffs & lush fernery. St Paul's Catholic Church at Hill End photographed at the Redbubble Rumble, June 2014. I love the old rustic fence around this building. In 1851, alluvial gold was first found in the Hill End goldfields. The population of Hill End exploded following these early discoveries and, by the second rush in 1872, it was the largest inland settlement in the NSW colony.
