Once a small corner bar, Lee’s has evolved over the years and become a popular hangout spot for music fans of all kinds — as well as, in recent years, Twins fans attending games at nearby Target Field. On any given day Lee’s Liquor Lounge is filled with people listening to music, dancing, and supporting the venue.

It is a very little known historic fact that Maestro Cab Calloway, former master-of-ceremonies at Harlem's iconic Cotton Club, band leader, musician, singer, actor, racial activist, and entrepreneur is the individual most responsible for the world coming to recognize New York City as the Big Apple. Calloway published his Hepster's Dictionary in 1938, that for the first time DEFINED "Apple" in print as "the big town, the main stem, Harlem," which by 1944 had sold over two million copies worldwide, introducing the original Harlem slang term to the rest of the planet as the Harlem Renaissance era was coming to a close

Then blended layers with color inversion in GIMP to "erase" the buttons leaving a new look at the gasket. Best if viewed larger. One of the last holdouts in the ever-changing landscape of Uptown will bow out of business when Lucia’s closes for the final time on October 14. The restaurant was founded more than three decades ago by its namesake chef, Lucia Watson. She was Minneapolis’ Alice Waters—a champion for local food, farmers and our collective culinary heritage. Watson sold the business in 2014 to an investment group. Not long afterwars, longtime sous chef Ryan Lund left (Lund is now the chef at Wayzata’s ninetwentyfive restaurant.) However, the new restaurant owners pledged to carry on Lucia’s legacy and hired chef Alan Bergo, an avid forager, to take the helm.
