Known as the Moon Swift Wyvern, Lucent Nargacuga has the ability to turn invisible, and perform a double tail slam like its green relative. It can also extend its spikes by shaking its tail, even when not enraged. While in this mode, all of its tail attacks cause venomous spikes to fly out. Lucent Nargacuga are incredibly territorial, stalking intruders and prey under the cover of night or fog and picking them off with cunning aggressive strikes with venomous effects.

A ferocious wyvern in a more cute rpg art style

Astalos is hyper-aggressive towards Hunters and other monsters alike. Astalos can generate green electricity by moving and rubbing its body parts, in which it can release this electricity from its wings, tail, and horn. Its wings have sharp claws, which it uses in ferocious dive-bombing attacks. It can paralyze prey with a strike from its tail, as well as fire bolts of electricity from it. Its horn can create a blade-like current of electricity, which extends the range of its horn attacks and also imbues them with the Thunder element. It can also breathe blasts of electricity which can split into two pillars upon impact with the ground.

Somnacanth has a very unique physiology. Covering its body are large yellowish scales, transitioning to white on the underside. Its front feet have three digits, each one ending in a long, curved black claw. Its back feet have four digits that end in shorter claws. It has fins on each front leg. It has a short face with a disturbingly humanoid appearance. Above its eyes are a pair of large purple horns, with a pair of smaller knob-like protrusions in front of them. Adorning the side of its head are three pairs of small purple fins, with a massive crest-like fin on the top. Velkhana is a traditional dragon with the slim, upright body structure of Elder Dragons like Kushala Daora. Its scales and shell are a unique crystalline blue. Its head has a tiara-like crown of small horns. It summons ice to cover its wings, limbs, and tail. Its thin, lance-like tail is highly flexible and can jab at enemies. Velkhana can control cold using its ore-infused scales, and can use this in a variety of ways. It primarily attacks foes by breathing supercooled fluid that will flash-freeze on impact, which also allows it to create walls and exploding spikes of ice. Aurora Somnacanth is a Leviathan and Subspecies of Somnacanth first introduced in Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak.Aurora Somnacanth is similar in appearance to the Somnacanth, however, its body is pale yellow, while its fins are ice-blue with some dark purple gradient. The bioluminescence is white instead of light blue, and frost can be seen forming on its head-crest and tail. Instead of sleep mist, Aurora Somnacanth uses powerful ice attacks such as an ice beam, a cry that can cause several frost explosion.

Gore Magala are monsters of an unknown type introduced in Monster Hunter 4.Now it returned on Monster Hunter Rise : Sunbreak. Gore Magala is a very unique wyvern, sharing traits and similarities to that of the Elder Dragons, possessing six limbs, including the clawed wings on its back. Though, its overall appearance and stance resembles a quadrupedal wyvern. Its body is covered in dark exoskeleton plates, with notable features including the hidden feelers that are folded alongside its face, the lack of visible eyes and fanged jaws that are actually parts of its external armor plates. Great Baggi eyes will glow yellow in the dark. Great Baggi are matured male Baggi that have taken over a pack of their own. Great Baggi is also slightly larger than the Great Jaggi. It has developed its own unique ability; it can spit a tranquilizing liquid that inflicts sleep on its prey or hunters. It also has developed the ability to command Baggi to surround prey or hunters and spit tranquilizing liquid at them with a roar. Located on its head is a crest that can be obtained in a way similar to Great Jaggi's frill.

Though not always differentiated from other types of dragons, the two legged wyvern has historically played a large role in Northern European heraldry. Personally, I always liked the versions where wyvern were given barbed tails filled with venom, and thus included that here, along with the traditional two legs. The space pattern here was inspired by images of the Crab Nebula, which has been linked to a supernova recorded by ancient Chinese astronomers.

Apex Zinogre are extremely aggressive and will attack anything on sight. Some new attacks include a "forward flip" which also has an electric version which is quickly followed by an electric claw slam, a sort of "electric uppercut" which also releases three thin electric shockwaves which move forward in a fan pattern, this attack can also be comboed into an electric claw slam. Another attack has Apex Zinogre create three small electric orbs in front of it in a horizontal line, before doing a leaping headbutt as lightning rains where the orbs were, quickly followed by making a small forward line of orbs then doing a forward flip as the lightning once again rains down, and finished off by Apex Zinogre rearing up on its hindlegs as a large ...

In fantasy worlds there are drakes, dragons, wyrms, and wyverns, as well as amphithere, lindwurm, sea serpents, and salamanders. A drake may become a hydra, if it has many heads, but primarily they are large, four legged, wingless lizard-like creatures. A Komodo Dragon may technically be a drake - or the closest thing to it - IRL.
