Well that was a pleasant surprise. I painted this abstract mountain range as a background for my rabbit painting. Mount Mitchell, at 6,684 feet, is the highest peak east of the Mississippi River. Located near Asheville, North Carolina, in the Pisgah National Forest, Mt. Mitchell is a popular peak for mountain climbers.
