Olden, Norway The village of Olden lies at the mouth of the Oldeelva river at the northern end of the spectacular Oldedalen valley on the southern shore of the Nordfjorden in the municipality of Stryn (Norway). The village has a population of around 500, but this swells to several times that number when the passengers of a cruise ship disembark here. Date: 3rd May 2018.

Sightseeing boats on n The Næroyfjord in Norway. This is a narrow branch of the Sognefjord and is about 20Km long but just 250m wide at its narrowest point! The surrounding mountains soar above it to 1660m and plunge steeply down to its waters. A spectacular waterfall cascades from the heights of the mountain to our left. Here it is easy to imagine Viking longboats making their way up the fjord to the warmth and safety of their village. This image is finished as coloured pencil art.

Still visible in the MIdnight Sun, Trollfjord or Trollfjorden is a 2km long Norwegian fjord and a popular tourist attraction. The mouth of the Fjord where it enters the Raftsundet strait is only 100m wide so can only be accessed by smaller ships. The fjord is in Nordland county in Norway,

Taken while on a whale watch just off the St. Lawrence seaway. There is a pod of Beluga Whales that inhabits the Saguenay year round. Unfortunately, didn't get any great whale photos, but the scenery was beautiful

Looking along the Næroyfjord from the village of Gudvangen in Norway. This is a narrow branch of the Sognefjord and is about 20Km long but just 250m wide at its narrowest point! The surrounding mountains soar above it to 1660m. Here it is easy to imagine Viking longboats making their way up the fjord to the warmth and safety of the village. Flåm sits at ther furthest end of the fjord which is a branch of the Sognefjorden - the longest fjord in Norway. It's a very narrow fjord and is deep enough for larger ships to travel along its length ' sois a destination for cruise ships. The mountains surrounding the fjord are high - reaching about 1800m. What does it take to be the champion of Uk'otoa? More than you've bargained for, of course.

For the vikings in your life (skal!).

The 55 mile long Romsdalsfjord ends just past the town of Andalsnes at the Norwegian village of Isfjorden. Although the picture was taken in June, snow capped mountains still surround the fjord.

When the weather in Stavanger started to clear in the afternoon, we made the spontaneous decision to drive out towards Lysebotn, the town at the end of the famous Lysefjord. We ended up driving all the way there -- including down the 21 hairpin turns of Lysevågen -- and were greeted with this golden hour view. There was even a bit of blue sky!
