Larry the Lariosaurus of Lake Como, Italy

A poster-style painting of Varenna, Lake Como. Varenna is a comune on Lake Como in the Province of Lecco in the Italian region Lombardy, located about 60 kilometres north of Milan and about 20 kilometres northwest of Lecco. Varenna was founded by local fishermen in 769, and was later allied with the commune of Milan.

This image is of the entrance area to the Villa Monastero, in Varenna, on the shores of Lake Como. I was really taken with the view out through those arches to the lake beyond. The delightful potted plants on the parapet wall, the lone cypress tree, and the classical architecture all made it for me.
