Oxford University Posters and Art Prints

In late 2006, scholarship student Oliver Quick from Prescot struggles to fit in at the University of Oxford because of his inexperience with upper-class manners. He befriends Felix Catton, an affluent and popular student who is sympathetic to Oliver's stories of his parents' substance abuse and mental health issues. When Oliver becomes distraught over his father's sudden death, Felix comforts him and invites him to spend the summer at his family's country house, Saltburn.

The boathouses on the River Thames belonging to the Oxford colleges as viewed from the Thames Path. They are situated between Folly Bridge in Oxford and Iffley Lock. These buildings replace the barges which were established as clubhouses in the 1800s, the first being built in the 1930s. Many of them have a distinct Art Deco style. The newest, however, was constructed in the late 1980s. Here you can often see the rowing crews in training as they power they way along the river.

Around the Sheldonian Theater in Oxford are the busts of 13 figures who have become known as Emperors though their actual identities are lost to time.

This is the coat of arms of Samuel Wilberforce, bishop of the Diocese of Oxford and Chancellor of the Order of the Garter. He was bishop of Oxford from 1845 to 1869. The Garter surrounding the shield is a privilege granted to bishops who are also Chancellors of the Order of Garter. Honi soit qui mal y pense translates to "Shame on him who evil thinks of it" and is the motto for the Order of the Garter. The symbols on the left of the shield are those of the Bishopric of Oxford and on the right of the shield is the Wilberforce coat of arms. All of this is under a mitre indicating it's an ecclesial herald.

The Boat Race Oxford Cambridge London UK Rowing

An old Oxford college barge under the trees in a backwater of the River Thames between Oxford and Iffley. A number of barges like this were bought by the Oxford colleges' rowing clubs in the mid-1800s as changing rooms and viewing platforms for spectators during races. They have now been sold off and can be occasionally found as floating function rooms etc. Club houses were built to replace them and can be found near Christ Church Meadows in Oxford.

Tom Tower, Oxford Number of views as of 27th November 2018 = 1030. Tom Tower (Oxford, England) stands over the main entrance of Christ Church college and houses the loudest (and probably heaviest) bell in the city, Great Tom, weighing in at 6.25 tons. The square tower with its octagonal lantern and facetted dome was designed by Christopher Wren and built in 1681–82 by stonemason Christopher Kempster of Burford. This photograph was taken from the tower of St Mary’s University Church, which provides some of the finest views of the city's 'dreaming spires'. Date: 30th October 2010. All Souls College, Oxford Number of views as of 14th February 2019 = 1140. The College of All Souls of the Faithful Departed (Oxford, England) was founded in 1438 by Henry VI and Henry Chichele (a fellow of New College and Archbishop of Canterbury). Today the College is primarily an academic research institution with particular strengths in the Humanities and Social and Theoretical Sciences and an outstanding library. Although its fellows are involved in teaching and supervision of research, the college has no undergraduates. Date: 30th October 2010. All Saints, Oxford Number of views as of 8th November 2017 = 700. In March 1700, the spire of the original All Saints church of Oxford, England (dating from 1122) collapsed, destroying most of the building. After an appeal for funds, the current building was completed in 1720. However in 1975, the church was deconsecrated and is now the library of Lincoln College. Date: 30th October 2010.
