Cottages in the churchyard at Turville in Buckinghamshire. This picturesque village lies in the Chiltern Hills as they roll down into the Thames Valley. Not surprisingly it has been the location for many films and TV productions such as The Vicar of Dibley and Midsomer Murders! Photographed late in the afternoon during July. The image has added textures.

A picturesque cottage in the village of Turville, Buckinghamshire. The village is situated in the Chiltern Hills as they drop down into the Thames Valley. Nearby are the towns of Henley, Marlow and High Wycombe. Not surprisingly this pretty village has been the setting for many films and TV productions such as The Vicar Of Dibley and Midsomer Murders. This was photographed late one July afternoon. The image has added textures.

The scene from the toll bridge at Whitchurch on Thames in Oxfordshire. The church of St Mary stands above the cottages which surround the old mill - no longer working but converted into flats. However, two large water wheels can be seen beneath the building, The church, originally built in Norman times underwent an extensive rebuilding programme during the Victorian period. Whitchurch is across the Thames and just north of the village of Pangbourne in Berkshire.

A group of thatched cottages clustered round the church in Sulhamstead Abbots, West Berkshire, England. They are C16th Grade II listed buildings. This quiet village is just to the south of the busy A4 or Bath Road which here runs between Reading and Newbury. St Mary's church, which has a distinctive white weatherboarded belfry, is largely C12th and is a grade 1 listed building. The village and the church are on the edge of high ground surrounded by farmland and overlook the Kennet valley. Nikon D7100 Nikkor 18-200

A scene captured in the village of Bosham (pronounced 'Bozzum') in West Sussex. Here the river flows between old houses to meet the sea by the quay. This image has been given a textured, pencil drawing finish. Bosham has its roots in history. King Canute is reputed to have had a palace near here and it might have been at Bosham that he commnded the sea to go back. It also appears on the Bayeux Tapestry showing the meeting of Harold Godwinson and Edward the Confessor prior to a meeting with William of Normandy.The upshot of this was, of course, the Battle of Hastings and the Norman conquest of Britain.
