The Cramps were an intentionally amateurish garage band formed in 1976 that were truly masters of their art. Credited as progenitors of the psychobilly subgenre, uniting elements of punk rock with rockabilly, the band drew considerable inspiration from the aesthetic of kitschy B-horror movies. The band was the ultimate embodiment of sexiness and cool with a dark, campy twist that personified everything weirdos appreciate. Halloween was the one night you could guarantee to find the Cramps playing, as they went with the holiday like hand in glove. On October 31, 2000, one such show played out at The Fillmore in San Francisco, and from what we hear, it was one hell of a party.
