On a sunny day in the Minnamurra Rainforest, the sunshine created dark shadows on the edge of the cliff but at the same time gave the falling water a special glow. Canoeists prepare to tackle the famous 'Swallow Falls' - Snowdonia.

An overcast & windy day in the Blue Mountains & from the lookout over the Grose Valley at Govetts Leap you could see the wind blowing the small waterfall way off a vertical drop. There is rarely a lot of water in this waterfall but the drop is quite spectacular. There is a track down to the bottom of the falls & into the valley. It is pretty steep & often narrow. This rocky outcrop is the end of the famous Three Sisters at Katoomba in the Blue Mountains. I always liked the photo, but it was after a bit of glossing up with a program called SyncUp that it took on an extra dimension .. a change in exposure, colour temperature, etc. I love the jigsaw of trees & bushes sprinkled around the rocks. With all our wet weather & not having done a walk since the last weekend in January, I was determined to get out on saturday despite the gamble with weather. Leaving Sydney in heavy rain I was hoping that the predicted possible thunderstorm in the Blue Mountains wouldn't happen or otherwise I might get in & get out before it eventuated. There was light rain in South Lawson when I got to the start of the walk so I grabbed the big umbrella to protect the camera & some wet weather gear for me. Both times I needed to plant a hand in the mud to stop myself falling & picked up some mud that was almost as orange as my shirt & more orange than my hair !
