Masonboro Island is located just five miles southeast of Wilmington,and is the largest undisturbed barrier island along the southern part of the North Carolina coast. Masonboro is surrounded by the Intracoastal Water on the West, The Atlantic Ocean on the East, Carolina Beach Inlet on the South, and Wrightsville Beach Inlet on the North. The Island is 8.4 miles long and over 5,500 acres. The area is covered with tidal flats, marsh, sand dunes, maritime shrubs, and pristine sand beaches. Masonboro Island is an area favorite by many boaters, surfers, fisherman, kayakers, and nature lovers. It is accessible only by watercraft. North Carolina USA. This is an image of one of the canals within the Tra Su Cajuput Forest, near Chau Doc in Vietnam. It is just the most stunning place to visit. Tours take place on boats as the forest resides almost completely in water. In addition to the amazing forest, there's an incredibly wide array of wildlife. In this image, I love the way the cajuput trees lean in toward the canal.to create a triangular tunnel through the forest. I suspect that the forest is kind of crowded, so the ones closest to the canal are leaning away from their friends. Nevertheless, a cool place to visit.

Wetlands in the forest Coniferous swamps, lowland hardwood swamps, and floodplain forests are all common types of forested wetlands. Floodplain forests are found next to rivers that seasonally rise. Coniferous swamps are mostly found in northern hardwood forests near ancient lake basins and river channels according to Wisconsin Wetland Association

When I took this image, I thought of a Preacher about to give his sermon at a Pulpit. However, in reality, this Little Black Cormorant is actually drying his wings after diving for food. Taken at Walka Waterworks in Maitland in the Hunter Valley.

Traditional fish farm (called "ivari" or "divari" by the locals) at the lagoon of Messolonghi, Aitoloakarnania, Greece. The Lagoon of Messolonghi is an important wetland protected by the Ramsar convention and Natura 2000. It is one of the most beautiful and peaceful places I have seen in my country. Moores Creek is a beautiful slow moving black water creek that flows into the Black River. The creek meanders though hardwood and cypress swamp forests with lots of shaded overhanging trees, allowing for plenty of shade along the creek. Currie, North Carolina USA. Canon Rebel T3i. White Ibises gather in groups in shallow wetlands and estuaries in the southeastern United States. At each step, their bright red legs move through the water and their curved red bill probes the muddy surface below. As adults, these striking wading birds are all white save for their black wingtips, but watch out for young birds that are brown above and white below.
