From the 1930's, the seal of the Civilian Conservation Corps. Part of President Franklin D. Roosevelt's " New Deal ", the Civilian Conservation Corps provided work for millions of men during the Great Depression. From 1933 to 1942 these men provided manual labor needed to improve America's public lands, parks and forests.

At Madison Square Garden, 3 days before the 1936 election, President FDR called out "the old enemies of peace - business and financial monopoly, speculation, reckless banking, class antagonism, sectionalism, war profiteering", saying "We know now that Government by organized money is just as dangerous as Government by organized mob", and "They are unanimous in their hate for me - and I welcome their hatred."
