Raglan Castle Merch

The moat winding its way between the inner walls of Raglan Castle in Monmouthshire, South Wales. The castle was built rather late, being started by Sir William ap Thomas in the 1430s. His son, Sir William Herbert, a Knight of the Garter, continued building, creating a home rather than a fortress - though it looks formidable! Castell Rhaglan, Monmouthshire, September 2022 The mediaeval ruins of Raglan Castle (Castell Rhaglan) in Monmouthshire, South East Wales date from the 15th century. In its day, and prior to the 'modifications' made by Parliamentary forces during the English Civil War, Raglan was considered to be one of the finest castles in Britain. The Union Jack is flying at half mast following the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Date: 6th September 2022.
