KiX breakfast Cereal box from the 1970s. Kix (stylized as KiX) is a brand of breakfast cereal introduced in 1937 by the General Mills company of Golden Valley, Minnesota. The product is an extruded, expanded puffed-grain cereal made with cornmeal. The slogan "Kid Tested. Mother Approved." was introduced in 1978. During the 1980s, television commercials included the jingle "Kids love Kix for what Kix has got. Moms love Kix for what Kix has not," the latter a reference to its claims of no added food coloring or flavors. In 2018, the slogan was updated to "Kid-tested. Parent-approved".

"The crunchy cereal that smiles back at you." According to a description from the March 22, 1976 issue of Time Magazine, "Later this year Ralston will introduce... Grins & Smiles & Giggles & Laughs, which (or so kids will be told) stream from the mouth of a 'computer-type monster' named Cecil when his 'funny bone' is tickled."

If you remember getting up early, eating a bowl of sugary cereal (as part of a balanced breakfast) and watching hours of the best TV shows on earth, then YOU had a great childhood.

The first Cookie Crisp mascot, Cookie Jarvis, was introduced in 1977. A wizard in the Merlin mold, he magically turns cookie jars into cereal bowls with a wave of his wand and rhyming incantations.

The mascot of Cocoa Puffs, Sonny the Cuckoo Bird, was introduced in 1962.

Nothing made me happier when I would get up, grab a bowl of cereal, then some cookies and milk every Saturday morning. While I miss those times, I still have a Saturday morning cartoon party from time to time;)
