During June of 1943, with the U.S.S. Eldridge a Destroyer Escort # 173 has been fitted with tons of experimental electronic equipment. This included, according to one source, two massive generators mounted where the forward gun turret would have been, sending their power through four magnetic coils on the deck. Three RF transmitters mounted on the deck plus three thousand power amplifier tubes and a lots of other specialized hardware were employed to generate massive electromagnetic field to bend light and radio waves around the ship. Then out of nowhere upon switching on the device the entire vessel vanished in a flash of blue light. Re-appeared in Norfolk, Virginia – two hundred miles away. Then returning in Philadelphia 10 minutes later.
