The Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, which is sometimes nicknamed “il salotto di Milano” (Milan's drawing room), is an elegant nineteenth-century shopping arcade. It houses some of the most luxurious boutiques in Milan.

The Edo style was very unique to that period. The textiles were at there most magnificent and the metal smithing was at its absolute best... One of Japans great renaissance periods. This design comes from an antique firemans jacket.

Not much is known about the printmaker Matsumoto Hoji, but his series of frog woodblocks remain remarkably popular to this day. Active in the late 18th century, his works were originally included in the "Meika Gafu", a compendium of famous and popular artworks produced in the late Edo period around the turn of the 19th century. Much like trading cards today, woodblock prints were shared, reproduced and coveted amongst friends.

Drawing inspiration from 19th-century natural history illustrations, this design brings out the anaconda's patterned scales, muscular form, and the intricate texture of its arboreal perch in exquisite detail.

This rail bridge has a cantilever design, the steel arches allowing sailing ships to pass beneath it. The bridge was designed by Scottish engineer Sir William Arrol, and was opened in 1890.
