The single location where we can learn the most about our planet is found nowhere on Earth but high up above it. Colours and shapes are amazing. The ability to fly satellites into space has changed all our lives in many ways, but the single greatest innovation has been the availability of new ways of seeing the world that satellites leave behind. Early pictures of the Earth seen from space became icons of the Space Age, and encouraged an increased awareness of the precious nature of our common home. Today, images of our planet from orbit are acquired continuously; they have become powerful scientific tools to enable better understanding and improved management of the Earth and its environment.

I was challenged by a friend to spend 1 whole year taking photographs of pink objects. it was a tough challenge but I am grateful to the friend for forcing me to OPEN my EYES to PINK.

THREE... important in art, theatre and literature (The Three Musketeers by Alexandre Dumas). In my youth there was a largely forgotten TV series called "Take THREE Girls" 3 flatmates living in London with a more memorable classic theme tune. Pentangle - Light Flight ('Take Three Girls' TV Theme 1969). I can stil hum it today. Lyrics Let's get away, you say, find a better place, Miles and miles away from the city's race etc... I guess the ultimate "get away from it all " is to become a NUN. Surreal inspiration for this image stems from this era.

Climbing Up the Walls (radiohead)

The Century Plant, commonly found in the deserts of Arizona, is considered a cultivated succulent. The plant has large clumps of fleshy strap-shaped leaves to 6 feet long with hooked spines along the edges and a wicked spine at the tip, blue green in color. After 10 years or more, the plant produces a branched 15-40 ft. The flower stalk bears yellowish green flower and has several varieties with yellow or white striped leaves.
