Sun Electric Corporation was founded in 1931 in Chicago, Illinois, focusing on manufacturing electrical test equipment for automotive use. After the war, hot rodders were increasingly souping up their rides and a need to monitor their engines became apparent. Sun applied their history with precision testing equipment to aftermarket automotive gauges, producing some of the best gauges of all time that allowed racers to keep an eye on their engine at all times. From tachometers to oil pressure and everything in between, Sun made a gauge for it, and these original units that came out decades ago remain the holy grail of instrumentation to this very day with most of them still working like new.

Standard Automotive Manufacturing Company was founded in 1952 in Los Angeles, California by Aaron Fenton. He jumped in with both feet as the hot rod craze took off, making everything from headers, cams, and air cleaners, to heads, intakes, shifters, and wheels, all sold under the brand name of Fenton. While many of their products were clearly knock-offs of other popular aftermarket parts, they did make a few original designs here and there. As a result, Fenton's products were usually noticeably cheaper than the brand name version, especially when it came to custom wheels and by the '70s, wheels were their primary focus. This design comes from their refreshed '70s branding and wheel focused brand, with an iconic 5 slot mag front and center.

Based in Columbus, Ohio, Columbus Custom Manufacturing produced a wide array of custom chopper parts ranging from forks and handlebars to complete chopper conversion kits for all the popular makes. They sold through dealers across the country, but also through direct sales via comprehensive mail order catalogs.

There's no shortage of hot rod builders in California, but sometimes it's the lesser known ones that were doing something really great, and Randy Spooner was just one such guy. While other guys were designing rides to get magazine covers, Randy was focused on building traditional hot rods that were meant to be driven. For about three decades, Randy's small shop in Fresno, California, turned out quite a few hand built drivers that any hot rodder would be proud to own. No garage queens or show circuit belles here - just down and dirty, old school hot rods meant to rack up the miles.

Kustom Kat was a popular mascot in the plastic model world during the '60s hay day of car models and customization. He appeared in various personas, usually dressing the part to go along with whatever model he was promoting, including 'Surf Kat.'

"Termino Feliz" is bad Spanish for Happy Ending. The original acrylic was painted in 2008. inspired by the Adelas, the women who fought along with their men in the Mexican Revolution.

What do you get when you mash up hot rods and monsters? In 1980, the answer would have been Weird Wheels trading card stickers. Featuring a checklist of colorful creations along the lines of the late ’60s Odd Rods cards, the set blends Kustom Kulture with matinée horror. The cards themselves have monsters and other creatures driving absurdly customized cars, trucks, and motorcycles. As cool as the cards looked, they came out at a time when the Kustom Kulture was well past its peak, and the set flopped, but that doesn’t mean they’re still not cool! This one features the ‘Slab Cab’ taxi themed hearse driven by the phantom from card #5.
