This was taken from the 6th floor terrace at the Newseum, on Pennsylvania Avenue in Washington, DC. The U.S. Capital Dome is under renovation, hence the scaffolding. The Canadian Embassy building is a beautiful white structure, symbolic of our great neighbor to the North. Did a little work in Lightroom and hope the added vignette is pleasing. We stayed at the Hyatt Regency Tamaya Resort and Spa in Bernalillo, New Mexico for a few nights in late April. The first evening we ate on one of their patios, next to this delightful fireplace. It was chilly and the fire was appreciated!

This adobe building in central Santa Fe, New mexico was built ca. 1618 (newer historical evidence has called a 1610 date into question) and was the site of the governors' administrations until 1910. While he was territorial governor in the late 1870s, Lew Wallace completed writing Ben Hur in this building. I thought converting the color to sepia gave it a better Southwest feel. Leica D-LUX 6
