Based in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada, Tor Truck Corporation was originally a crane carrier specialist. The company evolved to produce a wide range of severe service special application vehicles that operate in some of the most extreme conditions on earth. From logging and mining in the great white north to oil field duty in the Middle East, Tor trucks were built to last. In addition to building their own trucks, Tor was also a global supplier of powertrain parts and components to truck manufacturers all over the world.

Founded in 1888 with a team of horse-drawn hauling wagons, Matlack Inc. was based in Wilmington, Delaware. Matlack would grow to become the largest tanker line in America, becoming known as the "Pipeline on Wheels." From petroleum and chemicals, to dry bulk, and food grade product, Matlack Inc. had the specialized tanker trailers and terminal network to help get it where it needed to be. Sadly, after more than a century of doing business, the Pipeline on Wheels went into bankruptcy and was bought up and sold off in 2001.

In 1972, Mill Jennings sold his gas station to Billy Carter, brother of President Jimmy Carter. It became an important landmark in the history of Plains, Georgia in 1976 when Billy’s station became famous nationwide, as journalists covering Jimmy Carter’s presidential campaign made it their headquarters. In 1981 Billy sold the station to his son-in-law, and in 2008, it became the Billy Carter Museum. During its heyday, you could find Billy running the show, and his step side shop truck parked on site, which featured his CB handle, 'Cast Iron' prominently on the doors.

Prudhoe Bay is a census-designated place (CDP) located in North Slope Borough in Alaska. The official population is well under 100, however, at any given time, several thousand workers reside there to support the Prudhoe Bay Oil Field. The airport, lodging and general store are located in Deadhorse, and the rigs and processing facilities are located on scattered gravel pads laid atop the tundra. It is only during winter that the surface is hard enough to support heavy equipment, and new construction happens at that time. Prudhoe Bay was named in 1826 by British explorer Sir John Franklin after his classmate Captain Algernon Percy, Baron Prudhoe. Franklin traveled westerly along the coast from the mouth of the Mackenzie River in Canada.
