To walk in the Lake District National Park, in the UK, you will encounter the stiles that prevent the sheep that live on the mountains from wandering too far. They vary in style but they are stiles nevertheless. This one resides near Blea Tarn, a most picture-perfect place. As I recall, the British Standards Institute has a standard for stiles. It doesn't define what they must look like but only their functional purpose.

The beautiful town of Sirmione is situated at the end of a peninsular at the south end of Lake Garda in Northern Italy. This image was shot from the eastern side of the historical centre of the resort and Mallard ducks can be spotted on the clear, still water of the lake just before the sun set over the horizon at the end of another beautiful May day.

Groynes like these are typical of many beaches on the North Sea and Baltic Sea. They serve to protect the coast and prevent the sand from being washed away.

This building (Table Rock) with its entrance is a popular spot for tourists to stop and enjoy some food, drinks and souvenirs after a long walk along the Niagara Parkway passing by the falls on both the US side and the Canadian side. Except for this time of year, as you can see, the entrance is.... well..... restricted!!! And of course the entire area looks quite deserted. Naturally, I had to suffer the long walk back in deep freeze conditions with no hot chocolate on a day like this to warm me up. I hung out on the lower aft deck of the Casco Bay Lines ferry AUCOCISCO l l l. We were immersed in fog all the way into the city. I just snapped away to my hearts content. The buoy is: Green lighted buoy #7175, located in the Diamond Island Pass. 43-40-33.737N 070-11-11.352W CASCO BAY (Chart 13290) I was pleasantly happy to see this capture with the gull perched on my data card. Especially since I’m sure I didn’t have much capture time as we cruised past. Pleasantly surprised to find the lobster boat ...
