This is a drawing in pencil on paper of a zebra swallowtail butterfly with a shadow.

Not all shadows linger, some break away and chase the stars becoming an aberration of light.

This is a beautiful simple design based around the four colour rule and using that hint of colour with shadows. With the black floral design and then the hints of colour and the light purple background with a hint of brighter purple.

This is a yellow wall with a sweet mound of plants in a window. I painted it for a Shari Blaukopf class. Such a warm feeling!

In Beijing's alleyway

Bird tracks of a Galapogos Mockingbird are imprinted on a sandy surface, with each mark clearly visible against the fine grains. The contrasting shadows highlight the depth of each footprint suggesting recent activity by a small bird.

The Moon passed through the Earth's shadow in the little hours 28th September 2015. The left image was taken at 1am and the right image was taken at 4am once the shadow occurred.

Something is always watching

In the dark night Halloween night Scary, terrifying, days when everyone came out in spooky outfits. It was another very scary day where everyone was doing activities together in the midst of a scary atmosphere.

This series of paintings was inspired by the metaphysical landscapes of De Chirico. I have always been fascinated by their clear vision of the architecture, with the precise design of the shadows, almost anticipating the modern use of three-dimensional modeling software. In the way I feel, however, more introverted and almost unsociable, the outer space is transformed into a closed one, private and protected, from which the human presence has totally gone away. In those rooms then, it may happen that some strange objects and some unexpected decorations appear, suggesting that the person who lives there has overcome the lack of relationship to the outside world with the richness and complexity of his inner world.

An infinity of unnecessary items accumulated over the years, that stay there, without a reason and without a purpose. Sometimes I not even remember where they come from, where I bought them, or who has donated them to me. But now they have achieved a small space, a place above a cabinet, inside a drawer, on a library shelf, or hidden at the bottom of a closet, and they defend that place fiercely, stubbornly. They don’t want to leave, claiming their right to survive, pretending that I feel an affection for them, a bond that simply doesn’t exist. I avenge with these portraits, which reveal their useles...
