Cumberland Culmbacher Holiday Beer T-Shirt

The Cumberland Brewing Co. opened their doors in 1890 in Cumberland, Maryland, and operated for 30 years before closing in 1920 with the advent of prohibition. Culmbacher Holiday Beer was a seasonal brew Cumberland produced for consumption in the fall and winter months when a heartier beer might seem warranted. Similar to most Münchener beers of the 1800s, Culmbacher (from the Bavarian Kulmbacher) was a dark lager, but it was much, much darker, and unlike most beers of the era, it was quite heavily hopped and a great deal stronger.
