The following are a series of images of one of my most favorite strategy board game. I'm sure those of you of play chess or are remotely familiar with the game recognize that it is a game of extreme skill, strategy, planning, setting-up advantages, and tactical positioning. The game is derived from the Indian game "Chaturanga " sometime before the 7th century. Chaturanga is believed to be an ancestor of an East Asian game called "Xiangqi" (Chinese chess), "Janggi" (Korean chess), and "Shogi" (Japanese chess). Chess reached Europe via Persia and Arabia by the 9th century due to the Umayyad Empire conquest of Hispania.
