Pastel 50 x 70cm on black Canson Mitientes Tex paper In Sep 2017 a bushfire started on a ridge in the State forest near our place. A wind change caused the fire to move down the hill & threaten the properties bordering the forest. Our local Rural Fire Service started a backburn from the dirt road up the hill to stop the bushfire. The backburn took out 20 years worth of undergrowth - we could actually see the bike trails & contours of the hill near our house! In Dec 2019 - two & a bit years later, with very little rain, the bracken, grasses, sapplings etc have barely recovered.
