The foundations of this painting was forged in the remnants of a typhoon that smacked Seattle on Oct. 16th, 2016. I went into the flooding backyard as the storm raged and smacked my canvas into the rainwater. This punctured the canvas slightly but I feel it only adds to the nature of the piece itself. I then rushed the soaked canvas to my work table downstairs to squirt paint and swirl it into the rainwater. Then the basement started to flood. I left the canvas to sit and dry with the emotional swirls I had dragged into it. By the next day the urge to create this piece left with the storm.
