Oceanic Airlines is the name of a fictional airline used in several films, television programs, and comic books going as far back as the 1960s. Oceanic was typically used in works that feature plane crashes and other aviation disasters that a real airline would prefer not to be associated with. Oceanic Airlines was prominently featured in the TV series Lost, where the airline's highly stylized logo depicting an Australian Aboriginal dot painting can be seen throughout the series run. The show's fictional storyline begins with the crash of Oceanic Flight 815 on a mysterious island, and the airline plays a part in many of the flashback sequences, and was also used in an actual promotional website that fans could visit.
