In the early 1980s, entertainment restaurants blossomed after the Chuck E. Cheese chain defined the genre. Their immediate success inspired a gaggle of imitators, all with kid-friendly mixes of pizza, video games, and animatronic characters who sang and danced as parents ate pizza and kids ran around like maniacs. Major Magic's All Star Pizza Revue was one such imitator which opened in 1983 in the Toledo, Ohio suburb of Sylvania and while most other chains in this space died off by the mid '90s, Major Magic marched along all the way until 2010 before finally retiring from service.
