Heather T-Shirts

Originally a monoprint made on gelli plate using acrylic paint - this print was then worked on with ink to create this mixed media work.

This Dark Slate Gray Marble Aesthetic abstract fractal pattern is fascinating to look at, featuring fractured rock patterns and Blue Haze and Heather swirls.

This fence post was created using a 2 pastel technique to give a sort of textural effect. Firstly the oil pastel image was applied and then the soft chalk pastels were drawn on top.

A painterly representation of ling heather blooming on the edge of Commondale Moor on the North York Moors at the start of Autumn. The purple heather begins to fade at the begining of September and this image celebrates that purple heather landscape that everyone waits for on the North York Moors every year.

This is another little sumi bird that I have been trying to perfect. He is not in traditional black ink, as I ran out and started using blue, which I rather like. I am trying to work up to doing sumi-e Australian animals, but it isn't as easy as I thought it might be - they are deceptively simple looking.

Still having fun by using photoshop to colour in one of my black and white Aussie Tangles. I am happy to change the background colour upon request.

Butterfly Drinking Watercolour Painting

I couldn't resist digitally playing around with my original watercolour painting titled "Blooming" to see if I could completely change the look of it and create a colourful pattern. This is one of the results.

Ladybird amongst the heather

Bush Bay is a limited palette watercolour painting in which I chose to experiment with some different painting techniques.

The view out over the beck passes across an area called Golden Mea, towards the distance where the lifting cloud and fog partially hides Meldon Hill. This area forms part of the walk from Langdon Beck, around Cronkley Scar, Falcon Clints to the Cow Green Reservoir

You can decide the level of sarcasm that goes along with this. Maybe you're genuinely having a great day. Maybe things are more sub-optimal than they've ever been. It's all in your tone - well that's JUST DUCKY.

Originally this was a small glue and ink mixed media piece. I photographed and played with it digitally on one of those days when I just wanted to do something bright or quirky or right in your face - anyway, this was the result.

I did a small monoprint created using a gelli plate acrylic paint and over printed it with a lino cut and printing ink. I scanned it and then digitally made 4 copies of it to create a pattern.

Rumors

I was doing a mixed media piece of work with faint fish images on it with sections of gold and silver acrylic. Half way through I decided to photograph it and as it was a dull day I used a flash. The resulting images looked like this and were absolutely nothing like the painting. I am assuming it was something to do with the flash and reflective nature of the gold and silver paint, but I was so taken with the “happy accident” that resulted that I decided to use them as Red Bubble images. On Red Bubble is the only way they could be sold as the original looks nothing like these photos (unfortunately). This is a close up section of the painting.

I like painting umbrellas. These are some watercolour umbrellas from one of my other paintings, which I have digitally copied and arranged into a pattern just for a bit of fun.

My original black and white 60's style design in some fashion colours.

Oh dear, can't stop playing with photoshop and making my original pen and ink black and white tangle ever brighter!
