Located in Estes Park, Colorado, high in the Rocky Mountains, it's real life counterpart is where King went to get away from it all, only to be inspired by this remote and magnificent location and his own situation, leading him to pen The Shining.

The carpet from Room 237 Inspired by The Shining which is a 1980 horror film produced and directed by Stanley Kubrick and co-written with novelist Diane Johnson. The film is based on Stephen King's 1977 novel The Shining. Jack Nicholson stars as Jack Torrance an aspiring writer and recovering alcoholic, who accepts a position as the off-season caretaker of the isolated historic Overlook Hotel in the Colorado Rockies. Wintering over with Jack are his wife Wendy Torrance (Shelley Duvall) and his son Danny.

"Hello Danny, come play with us forever, and ever, and ever!" This scene was in everybody's mind when somebody mention the Shinning film. Me, as a horror movie fan, too. And of course, this Kubrik's masterpice had to be illustrated by me. The scary twins in the corridor. What a shocking scene.
