“God Bless Our Trip” is a common sight in Philippine jeepneys (a public mode of transportation). This kitschy sign reflects the Filipinos’ faith and religion, believing that having this displayed inside their vehicle will ensure safe travels.

Good Morning Towel, a.k.a. GMT, is a utilitarian object used to wipe off sweat from someone's brow, or basically any other surface that needs wiping. It is emblazoned with a bright red "Good Morning" greeting and Chinese characters. We know you've always just assumed it translated to the same morning greeting but in case you're curious, the characters say "Zhu jun zao an," in Pinyin, read from right to left in the traditional Chinese manner. This roughly translates to "Wish you early morning," or essentially a very formal "Good morning" greeting.

"teka" is an informal term. it used to be from "hintay ka". literally means "one moment" or “please wait”. “Teka lang” can also be a metaphor. So between those words, I added “work in progress”. Kapeng barako (Spanish: café varraco or café verraco), also known as Barako coffee or Batangas coffee, is a coffee variety grown in the Philippines, in the provinces of Batangas and Cavite. It belongs to the species Coffea liberica. Barako in the languages of the Philippines means "stud", and is associated with the image of masculinity. Barako has a strong flavor and fragrance reminiscent of aniseed. They are considered endangered due to low production and demand. It is listed in the Ark of Taste international catalogue of endangered heritage foods by the Slow Food Movement. It was introduced to the Philippines in the 1740s by Spanish friars. The Philippines became one of the top four producers of coffee in the world in the 1880s.

An original illustration that I did for an acrylic painting. The idea is playing on a popular caramel and vanilla candy in the Philippines/ Asia in the 90s called “White Rabbit.” It is a kawaii girl with a mischievous pose as if she is about to eitherthrow the candy or is holding it up so that no one can pry it from her. Rabbits also represent springtime or new beginnings, which the infant child in the illustration can represent for parents.
