If I lived in Weslaco, Texas, I would be on the deck at the Estero LLano Grande State Park as many mornings as possible. This is my original artwork of an American white ibis flying along the marshes of St. Simons Island, Georgia.

This is my original artwork of two grey herons. Grey herons fly in early morning to feed in the ocean marshes. A bird of wetland areas, it can be seen around lakes, rivers, ponds, marshes and on the sea coast.

Turkey Vulture Chimney Topper by Debra Martz I was just getting ready to put my gear back in the truck when I saw a Turkey Vulture circling to the west of this old abandoned house. I thought, "maybe I can get a neat fly by if I wait just a few minutes more." Then I noticed its circling stopped and it headed directly for the house, the chimney in fact, for a landing! After getting a number of shots of it making its way to land on the chimney, I swapped cameras from wide angle to the one with a zoom mounted to get just the Vulture and Chimney. A Canada Goose got too close to a family of Geese and the parents scared the goose away.

White American Pelican Peacefully Drifting by Debra Martz It was a beautiful, sunny winter day in February and this Pelican had separated from the larger flock that was busily feeding in the bay. This one chose to enjoy some peace and quiet by just lazily drifting.

Tree of Vultures by Debra Martz It was the end of September and fall migration was in full swing. I go to the Great Salt Plains State Park quite often for bird watching and I've taken some photos of birds in this old, neatly shaped dead tree in the past. But this was the first time I had seen it outlined with the migrating Turkey Vultures.
