Linework T-Shirts

This little drawing was inspired by the illustrations of Mabel Lucie Attwell - I have a book from my childhood entitled 'A First Peter Pan' and it is adorably illustrated by Attwell.

Here are all eight of them: Ava, Isabella, Oscar, Jackson, James, Lily, Sophia and Zoe.

This is just for me, I wanted to get all nine of my ridiculously good looking children in one image. All of these portraits were shot in the last week, so this is truly current. Trying new things... I do love these flowers and it seems lately I have a thing for polka dots, thought I might trying combining the two. Also, I wanted to try using a slow shutter speed to increase the dof in my macro photography - this was a 5 second exposure.

Grace (6) and Reilly (10 months) playing with our puppy, Belle, on a lazy afternoon... tried to follow a watercolour tutorial and have definitely learnt some new things. So, it is someone's birthday today. Someone super-special and beyond compare. And I have been working and thinking and trying and trying to come up with a picture worthy of her, and not really making it, I don't think. Yup, it is the birthday of the lovely artist, Ingrid Beddoes (aka Ingz.) Everyone needs somebody to tell their secrets to! My wonderful husband gave me a wacom tablet for Christmas!!! I am having SO MUCH FUN. I have wanted one for the longest time, but was too scared to get one in case I found I was useless with it. Well, I know I have a way to go, and this is only my second attempt with it, but I love using it, so much... I feel like a whole new world just opened up to me. (As you can imagine, the laundry is piling up, the dishes are begging to be done, the dust is collecting in the corners of my house ... and I just don't care.) This is based on a photograph that I took of my daughter, Mila (6).

This is Reilly, nearly 5 years old. He's great, I love him. : ) This is my 40th work for my 52 week challenge. FORTY!! Wow. Only 12 weeks to go!

How affectionate do these two look? Just seeing them in my garden made me smile. This is my 44th work in my 52 week challenge.

I’m really enjoying experimenting with watercolour & acrylic inks, using washes to explore texture & colour. The leaves were hand drawn with an ink pen, a kind of meditative, zentangle / doodle drawing – very relaxing to do.

This is our most elderly little dog, Lucky. She is a Miniature Daschund and is now 8 years old. She is not fond of modelling and has, up until now, not made her appearance in my portfolio. She keeps to herself mostly, finding sunny corners of the house to while away the winter days, but will come running, full of joy and affection, if anybody calls her name.
