This is an image of a girl sitting in a window frame at the Royal Ontario Museum. I was really struck by the shape of the window, its sharp geometric lines in strict contrast with human form inside its frame. The window has the obvious practical purpose of letting the light in but its unconventional shape, lying now within the confines of normality, is what appealed to me.

Patent number:24068 Produced in Lincoln, worked at the Holton Heath Gun Powder mill during WWI, were explosives were manufactured for naval and military use. As a result of using this machine, the gun powder mill's production rate increased dramatically helping to aid the war effort. Taken in Lincolnshire life museum in 2019.
