Haweswater Reservoir And Mountains We drove all the way round Hawswater only to find the the car park was full and there were no spaces on the roadside. Luckily, on the way back there were no vehicles following so I just kept stopping and getting out to take a few photographs of this stunning lake. Haweswater is a reservoir in the valley of Mardale, Cumbria in the Lake District, England. Work to raise the height of the original natural lake was started in 1929. It was controversially dammed after the UK Parliament passed a Private Act giving Manchester Corporation permission to build the reservoir to supply drinking water to the city. We were pleasantly surprised at how beautiful this market town is, especially down by the river Nidd and it's imposing viaduct. Cuban Cars in Havana Black And White I stood with my camera just waiting for a line of old Cuban cars on the corner of hotel Parque Central, Havana. This was harder than you may think as there are quite a few more modern cars and of course tourist buses that seemed to be always in the way of my shot. These cars were lined up at the traffic lights waiting for a green light and I took my shot before they moved. Just behind them is Hotel Inglaterra and the Capitol building which helps to give you a sense of place and makes for the perfect black and white image to frame and place on a prominent place in your house or home. After the Cuban Revolution, the U.S. embargo was erected and Castro banned the importation of American cars and mechanical parts. Derwentwater Wooden Rowing Boat Black And White These beautiful old wooden boats are available to hire by the hour on numerous lakes in the Cumbrian Lake District. Straw Bales Stacked High Taken on the Lincolnshire Wolds close to the stunning town of Louth, UK. Most farms now use the larger round bales to compact their straw in to but this farm is still old school and using the older rectangle format to store the straw in. This way is more manageable for the lone farmer as these bales are easy to lift on your own without getting a back injury. I say small but since our last visit it seems a lot bigger and certainly busier. Birch Tree Yellow Sunrise Glow This stunning scene was produced by the sun reflecting off the sea mist and creating this amazing yellow glow making it look as though the whole area was on fire. This houses under the sun were bathed in a perfect sunrise and was a perfect backdrop for the lone Birch tree in the foreground. A birch is a thin-leaved deciduous hardwood tree of the genus Betula, in the family Betulaceae, which also includes alders, hazels, and hornbeams. Camden Town Bridge, London City, UK This iconic bridge in Camden Town really caught my eye and lets you know exactly where you are in London City. Camden Town is famed for its market, a warren of fashion and curiosities by the Regent’s Canal. A haven of counter culture, the area is popular with tourists, teenagers and punks.
