The Big Wheel became the Centerfold Casino from 1975-1977. Their sign advertised "Girls! Girls! Naked But Nice". I'm not quite sure how naked girls were allowed to work in a casino (given the Nevada Gaming Commission's rules prohibiting such a thing). According to some sources, the Centerfold was strictly a 'topless dancing strip-club'

I walked along, absorbed in deep thought, trying to understand the vision of the Angel. And suddenly, as I lifted my head, I saw midway in the sky a huge, revolving circle covered with Kabalistic letters and symbols. The circle turned with terrible velocity, and around it, falling down and flying up, symbolic figures of the serpent and the dog revolved; above it sat an immovable sphinx. In clouds, on the four quarters of heaven, I saw the four apocalyptical beings, one with the face of a lion, another with the face of a bull, the third with a face of an eagle, and the fourth with the face of a bull. And each of them read an open book.

Texas is the second largest state in the United States after Alaska by population and area, and the largest state in the continental United States. Texas has the nickname "Lone Star State" to mark Texas as an independent republic and evidence of the state's struggle to achieve independence from Mexico. The "Lone Star" can still be seen today on the Texas flag and coat of arms.

"Casino Center" was a downtown branding effort that came and went in the 60s. 2nd Street was renamed "Casino Center Blvd" in the middle of this campaign. It was the first but not the last time downtown competed with the Strip for visitors. They also built a billboard sign along I-15 approaching Las Vegas, 1967 that read Downtown Casino Center → 10 Minutes. The name change has stood the test of time, as for that "Downtown Casino Center" sign, it was built by the same team who made the Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas sign. They first placed it near the site of the present-day Cosmo, then later moved it out to the highway. Unfortunately its now long gone.

Queens of Comedy

The Riviera opened on April 20, 1955, as the first high-rise at 9 stories, and the ninth resort on the Las Vegas Strip. The Riviera Hotel was one of the oldest and well-known casino resort in Las Vegas Strip. It stopped operating in May 2015 after being bought by The Las Vegas Convention and visitors Authority which scheduled to implode the property as part of the billion-dollar project of expanding the Las Vegas Convention Center.

This design features my signature Cheshire Cat design, holding a a full suit of cards. He's tricky, and best not to play games with! This is the 'purple outlined' version of my design. Other versions of this Cheshire Cat are available in my shop!

Vegas World was a space-themed casino and hotel on Las Vegas Boulevard in Las Vegas, Nevada. It was owned and operated by Bob Stupak, and was also signed as Bob Stupak's Vegas World. Stupak initially opened a small casino, Bob Stupak's World Famous Million-Dollar Historic Gambling Museum and Casino, on the property in 1974, but it was destroyed in a fire later that year. Tropicana Ave’s 20th Century was only around for a couple of years, before becoming The Treasury, which was also around only a couple of years. 20th Century was one of a half-dozen short-lived names used by the hotel at 115 E Tropicana, ‘72: Howard Johnson Hotel. ‘75: Paradise Hotel & Casino. '77: 20th Century Hotel & Casino. '79: The Treasury. '85: Pacifica Hotel (no casino). '85: Polynesian Hotel. '89: Hotel San Remo. 2006: Hooters.

The settlement of Las Vegas, Nevada was founded in 1905 after the opening of a railroad that linked Los Angeles and Salt Lake City. Urbanization took off in 1931 when work started on the Boulder Dam (now the Hoover Dam), bringing a huge influx of young male workers, for whom theaters and casinos were built, largely by the Mafia. Electricity from the dam also enabled the building of many new hotels along the Strip. The arrival of Howard Hughes in 1966 did much to offset mob influence and helped turn Las Vegas into more of a family tourist center, now classified as a Mega resort. defunct casino

Coin Castle was a casino located where La Bayou is today on Fremont Street in Downtown Las Vegas, Nevada. The casino was last owned by Herb Pastor and opened on 1970. The castle-themed casino later closed in 1999 to be renovated into the La Bayou, which lasted until 2016. During it's history, people would sometimes be given personalized key rings, gambling horoscopes, free wine, and more. When the casino closed in 1999, neon letters, coins, and a statue of a king that once stood over the casino, were all donated to the Neon Museum, and can all now be seen in the main boneyard.

After I learned the first three numbers I was given to understand the Great Law of Four - the alpha and omega of all. I saw the Emperor on a lofty stone throne, ornamented by four rams' heads. On his forehead shone a golden helmet. His white beard fell over a purple mantle. In one hand he held a sphere, the symbol of his possession, and in the other, a sceptre in the form of an Egyptian cross--the sign of his power over birth.
