I have been a fan of Doctor who since the 70s. Over the past few years i have done a series of Paintings from Space and time to pop art splat. This is part of the Pop Art series which is based on the swirl of the time vortex. The original painting that these images come from are much bigger and in a Wide screen style. To use these for T shirts etc I have cropped the design and modified them from my original paintings.

This is a digital painting depicting the final moments between Clara and the Doctor before she faces the raven - her death. In this scene, Clara is trying to calm down the Doctor.

The latest installment of my series of cartoonish portraits of the Doctor.

For season 11 of Doctor Who, I decided to try something new and create a movie-style poster for each episode. After watching the episode, I'd pick a movie poster and use it as inspiration. And I'd try to incorporate all the important characters and key details.

Heaven Sent from Doctor Who season 9 is a masterpiece of storytelling. The visuals and directing are incredible, but the story is what shines. I'm particularly fond of the shepherd boy's tale used to illustrate the billions of years the Doctor spent in the clockwork, puzzle hell running from the veil. The metaphor - a bird sharpens its beak on a granite mountain once every 100 years or so, and the time it takes for the mountain to be worn down from the sharpening of birds beaks...is one second in eternity - has often been used in literature. James Joyce uses it, most notably, in 'A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man.'

The 10th Doctor's popularity is unquestionable. Everybody loves him. Girls love him. Guys want to be him. Clara called him the hero in the Day of the Doctor and I felt that was an appropriate title for this painting. With the War Doctor, the 10th Doctor, and the 11th Doctor in the same barn (isn't time travel fun), she remarked about the 10th being the hero - "We've got enough warriors. And any old idiot can be a hero." Of course, every version of the Doctor has been a hero, but the 10th Doctor embodied that role. He never shied away from danger, as though he never had anything to lose, and often went diving head first into it, shouting "allons-y" - the french phrase for "let's go" that he would later call a "word of consolation to the ...

The Fourth Doctor is an incarnation of the Doctor, the protagonist of the BBC science fiction television series Doctor Who. He was portrayed by Tom Baker. Within the series' narrative, the Doctor is a centuries-old Time Lord from the planet Gallifrey

In the episode of "Vincent and the Doctor," Amy Pond surprising Van Gogh with a garden full of sunflowers, hinting that maybe he'd like to paint them. Van Gogh remarks that sunflowers are always somewhere between living and dying, half-human as they lean towards the sun. And that he finds them a bit disgusting, but a challenge. It's one of my favorite episodes of Doctor Who, in part because the story expresses mental illness in a very real way that resonates with me. But also, because I'm an artist heavily influenced by Van Gogh.

Paul McGann only played the Doctor on screen twice - for the 1996 TV movie, which was made for an American audience by the Fox Network, and a mini-episode called the 'Night of the Doctor' prior to the 50th Anniversary episode. Fox wanted to use the TV movie as a pilot to launch the show in America but it didn't do well enough and Doctor Who remained in the the dark for another nine years. However, since the TV movie, McGann has voiced the role in over 80 audio plays produced by Big Finish Productions. David Tennant wasn't the first Scottish actor to be the Doctor. And Peter Capaldi wasn't the first Scot to play the role with a Scottish accent. These honors go to Sylvester McCoy. He was the Doctor from 1987 to the shows cancellation in 1989 after 26 seasons, though technically he was the Doctor until 1996 when he appeared briefly at the beginning of the Doctor Who TV movie before regenerating into the 8th Doctor, Paul McGann. As I've argued before, the cancellation shouldn't be blamed on the 7th Doctor. He was brought in only after the ship already hit the iceberg, so to speak.
