Small abandoned homestead half way up the Flat Top Mountain that is capped by Pinnacle Rock,Mercer County. You can't help but wonder,in it's heyday without the traffic or other houses,how peaceful it must have been to sit on that porch on a summer afternoon.

Built in 1937, from the late-1940’s to the early-1950’s the WRON radio station was located upstairs in the Grand Theatre building. The Grand Theater closed in the 1960’s. The building still stands.The venue replaced an earlier circa 1900 iteration. The new three-story building was designed by John Norman, Sr., the second registered black architect and seventh registered architect for the state. J.C. (Jim) Shanklin operated the theatre.
