The Old Wye Bridge, also known as the 1816 Bridge crosses the River Wye to connect Monmouthshire (Sir Fynwy) in Wales with Gloucestershire, England. Constructed of cast iron on stone piers, it was designed and built by John Rastrick in 1816 to replace an earlier bridge which was gradually disintegrating. This handsome structure is now Grade 1 listed. This image was captured late afternoon in early October at low tide.

Bakewell, River Wye, Peak District, England This stunning scene was Bakewell as a storm approached us. The clouds were swirling above us as I just about got a couple of shots of the drama unfolding before the heavens opened. Bakewell is a market town and civil parish in the Derbyshire Dales district of Derbyshire, England, known also for its local Bakewell pudding. It lies on the River Wye, about 13 miles south-west of Sheffield. In the 2011 census, the population of the civil parish appeared as 3,949. It was estimated at 3,695 in 2019. The town is close to the tourist attractions of Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall.

All Saints, Brockhampton The somewhat unusual All Saints Church of Brockhampton can be found in the River Wye Valley, between the city of Hereford and the market town of Ross-on-Wye, in the county of Herefordshire, England. It is one of only a few churches in the country to have a thatched roof. The architect was William Lethaby and the building was completed in 1902. Even more remarkably, a replica of the church exists on the 21st and 22nd floors of a tower block in Japan's second city, Osaka. Apparently, many Japanese couples aspire to be wed in a European church. The Old Bridge

St Tysilio's Church, Sellack Sellack is a small village in the Wye Valley, not far from Ross-on-Wye (Herefordshire, England). The village consists of a handful of houses and the only church in England to be dedicated to the Celtic Saint Tysilio, though there are other places of worship that bear his name in Brittany and Wales, perhaps most notably that in the Anglesey village of Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch in North Wales. Records indicate that Sellack's first priest was John de Henle in 1291, but the church is probably older still, and may originate from St Tysolio's lifetime in the 7th century A.D.
