Figures from a Dresden Past - Imagined Tank Top

A moment of perfectly suspended silence and beauty. Each window shows details of the life lived behind it, without a glimpse of any resident. Struck by inspiration one evening, I grabbed my sketchbook and pencil. I rarely am inspired to sketch without reference, but I found these shapes came easily. I wanted to emulate a handpainted, with ink outline feel to this work. Natural, imperfect textures were important in this painting. This scene is entirely imagined.
