The Dallas Tornado was a soccer team based in Dallas, Texas that played in the North American Soccer League (NASL) from 1967 to 1981. The franchise was one of the original clubs that played in the United Soccer Association, one of the two precursors to the NASL. Of the twelve teams that comprised the U.S. in 1967, the Tornado franchise played the longest - a full 15 seasons. Their home fields were Cotton Bowl (1967–1968), P.C. Cobb Stadium (1969), Franklin Field (1970–1971), Texas Stadium (1972–1975, 1980–1981) and Ownby Stadium (1976–1979). The club played Indoor soccer at Reunion Arena for one season (1980–81), and hosted the two-day 1975 Regionals at Fair Park Coliseum.

The Stoners won the league championship in 1980. The Stoners name was derived from Pennsylvania's official nickname, The Keystone State. A previous incarnation of the Stoners was a member of the American Soccer League from 1979 to 1983. Derived their name from Keystone State, not the other definition.

The California Surf were an American soccer team that competed in the North American Soccer League (NASL) from 1978 to 1981. The team was based in Anaheim, California and played their home games at Anaheim Convention Center and the Long Beach Arena during the indoor seasons and Anaheim Stadium for outdoor matches. Originally founded as the St. Louis Stars, the team relocated to Anaheim after the 1977 NASL season. The team disbanded after the 1981 NASL season.
