St Pauls Parish Charlottetown PEI by Debra Martz This historical anglican church was constructed in 1896, marking the third building on the same location. The initial structure was built in 1769, making this parish the oldest on the Island. The church has a sturdy exterior composed of large sandstone blocks. And just look at how green things are. We were here in October, a few days before Canada's Thanksgiving, to see the colorful fall foliage. But, nature has its own time schedule! I found this cute lighthouse along the north shore of Prince Edward Island near Cavendish, home to Anne of Green Gables. I was the winter season and had a decorative wreath on the door. I hope to return to the area during the summer season to explore the seashore and beaches.

I thought I was viewing a movie set when I came across this 60's style drive-in while exploring Prince Edward Island. Gillis' Drive In Restaurant is one of the last car hops service in Canada. It is located in the community of Montague, within the Town of Three Rivers, Kings County PEI. It had a lot of character and a great opportunity to create a story of nostalgia. Unfortunately at the time, there were a lot of modern day cars parked that didn't fit the theme of what I wanted to capture. What to do? So I returned the next day before daybreak and yes the lot was empty! However the sun coming up directly behind and silhouetting the drive-in itself! This wasn't working! Have you ever been to the Prince Edward Island; Canada's smallest province? While there are 63 lighthouses and range lights on Prince Edward Island this is one of my favourites. Not big in stature this pretty little lighthouse is at Covehead Harbour along the north shore of Prince Edward Canada. Facing the Gulf of St Lawrence, it is a popular spot for visitors and Islanders alike. It is located within PEI National Park and sits atop the sand dunes with access to the beach. I have had the opportunity to visit this spot with return visits with the ambition to make something memorable for your home decor.
