In that few had ever handled a bow and arrow many of the Hoarggs were pulled off the war machine projects on order to teach the villagers how to shoot properly. As with any undertaking like this, although it was a ragtag unit, leaders emerged as they were needed and all kind of systems developed out of necessity. There were lieutenants, captains, and generals directing and instructing the troops in basic maneuvers. It was not uncommon to see clouds of dust rising up from the marching of soldiers. �Cover!� we heard as we walked through the forest. We all ducked behind a tree as we could see what must have been a thousand arrows headed in our direction....

August 21, 1883 Dear Diary, We had quite a party. The Hoarggs were wonderful hosts and had delightful games for the children. There were colorful decorations everywhere with balloons and ribbons strung all about. There was a dunking booth and someone from every village took part in it. The Hoarggs put on a carnival show and some dressed like clowns and were simply hilarious. I think they understood that laughter was a way to win hearts and minds, and they did. I figured that it would not be long and I would be called upon to set the world back in order. I gathered Cedric, Zeke, and Polly in the shed out in back of the house and we played with my doll house. Soon Alfred, the mouse (the king of Kira) appeared in a cloud of sprinkle dust. He said, "We must all go at once! Lucinda says that we must hasten to Kira and fix the space-time continuum before it is too late." I gathered up my sewing machine and basket while he searched his pockets and found the magic hourglass. He said the words that would take us to Kira. “Magic sa...

August 25, 1883 Dear Diary, I have decided that there is no point in showing anyone my diary as no one would ever believe any of it. I've been told that a diary is personal, so I guess I'll keep it that way. I do have that map pinned to the wall given to me by Captain Flynn and signed by Alfred the Great and Captain Adams. I know that Aunt May thinks it is no more than one of my sketches and that is fine with me. I do look at it each night before I go to bed. I am always happy to see that Tammy the Merciful slayed that nasty ole dragon. There is only one thing my friends do believe, and that is that I have the cutest mongoose and opossum one could ever imagine. How they ever came to be here will be our little secret.

The Little Doll Girl: The Wurtherington Diary We strolled down the busy street. A lamplighter was busy lighting the street lights as the Sun would soon reach the western horizon. We wound our way back to the main gate and passed by the guards without any concern. Zeke and Cedric joined us and I told them they were heroes for rescuing us and gave them both a kiss. They flew off into the distance and returned with our bee friends. Soon we were flying over the beautiful lakes and rivers that surrounded Capira. Later, we passed over columns of soldiers and carts that lined the road leading to the Oxboar forest. I calculated that they would be there in a day.

He loved the idea and within the hour I had him dressed in a handsome leather outfit with a large black belt. He stood before a mirror and admired himself while he held a bow and arrow. Alfred, Cedric, and Zeke hovered around him offering compliments. "All of the Hoarggs will soon want to look like this!"

In the opening preface, Robert Landsbury discovers the diary in a shed on a newly purchased estate in River Falls, Ohio and passes it along to his associates. The diary is faithfully preserved for today's reader. In it, the reader will discover that a ten-year-old mute girl, Tammy Wurtherington residing in the Wixby estate is the author. She loves to make dolls in a shed out in back of the house. She lives with Lord Wixby and Aunt May in a lavish estate at the edge of town. Aunt May teaches her to use a sewing machine and gives her a small one suited to size as a birthday gift. One day while constructing a toy soldier for her brother, Alfred the Mouse appears and is impressed with her ability to make doll outfits and reluctantly invite...
