Arctic Fox Snow Globe

This painting is a depiction of a winter day at Westchester Lagoon in Anchorage, Alaska, in the style of Pieter Bruegel the Elder. This painting was commissioned by a patron who asked me to emulate the painting called "The Hunters in the Snow". Signed art prints are available at my Etsy shop: www.realartisbetter.etsy.com

Abstract Winter Forest Scene with Falling Snow, watercolor on Yupo, by Conni Schaftenaar. A sheet of Yupo flooded with Prussian Blue and my fave texturizing method of plastic wrap scrunched across it, left to dry. Then Payne's Gray to add some trees, then spattered with Bleed Proof White for the appearance of falling snow. A little bit of blotting at the bottom with a damp cotton ball to make some mounds of snow in the foreground. This was done as one of my entries in a local postcard exhibit in 4x6 size.

Winter scene. Seaside Lighthouse at Victoria By The Sea. Located in Prince Edward Island, Canada. The quaint fishing village is popular with summer visitors to the province. P.E.I. being 40 miles long, is Canada's smallest province.

There is a unique sense of peacefulness and solitude you can only get after a snowfall. This winter scene of a park bench on the banks of Neshaminy Creek in Tyler State Park, Bucks County, PA is the perfect spot for reflection and some alone time.

Edinburgh Castle in the snow, Taken from the Vennel one of the citys amazing viewpoints with the old victorian street lights below the castle, The scene has a very Christmassy feel to it in my opinion.

The festive snow scene on these cool products is an image that reminds me of my winter walks to grannies every weekend. This is the long walk alongside the golf links on a snowy winters day, the crisp snow lay very thick on the ground and there was very big snow drifts that were higher than me! it was so much fun making footprints in the fresh snow. The trees were laden with snow and the road and footpath had become one big white carpet! It was all very festive that’s why I think this snow scene makes an original Christmas product. The original water-color painting is titled “On The Way To Grannies”

I tried to give this snow scene the feeling of someone looking out a frosty window as a winter storm rages outside. I can imagine a romantic couple sitting around the fireplace looking out the window and saying, "Let it Snow, let it Snow, let it Snow".
